Which Sky packs should I subscribe to?

Sky encourages their TV customers to build a custom package, combining the 300+ plus channels included in a Signature subscription with any combination of Sky packs. Each channel pack adds new, premium channels to your subscription, and some come with free extras like streaming service subscriptions or exclusive apps.

From the names alone, it’s not always clear which channels and extras are included in each of the Sky packs. We’ve broken down each of Sky’s channel packs below, listing the top channels included and any bonus features.

One thing you should be aware of – Sky regularly changes the names of some of its channels for seasonal events. Earlier this month, for example, Sky Cinema featured a dedicated Oscars channel for award season. That means that though you may see some different channel names when you check your TV guide, you’re subscribed to the same channel packs we talk about below.

Sky Signature  + Ultimate TV
Best for everybody

Sky Signature is the base for every Sky TV package and now includes the Ultimate TV add-on as standard. Watch new and trending shows with Sky Signature

Sky is famous for being the home of some of the best TV shows in the world, particularly premium US dramas. The Last of Us may have just finished airing its first season on Sky Atlantic, but if you missed the post-apocalyptic story everyone’s been obsessed with when it premiered you can now stream every episode on Sky Go.

If you prefer home-grown shows, Lily Allen and Freema Agyeman star in Dreamland, which will air on Sky Comedy this April. Based on the BAFTA award-winning short film of the same name, the six-part series is set in the seaside town of Margate. Third-time mum Trish (Agyeman) gathers three generations of her family together in an attempt to manifest a daughter, but the plan is interrupted by the return of her sister Mel (Allen). The show may be airing on Sky’s Comedy channel, but things also look set to get pretty tense, with the trailer promising sun, sea… and secrets.

One of the most hotly anticipated final seasons in recent years, Succession season 4 will air exclusively on Sky Atlantic in the UK, starting March 27th. Sky Atlantic is included in the Signature channel pack that’s part of every Sky TV package, which means every Sky subscriber will be able to watch new episodes as they air live, simultaneous with the US premier. For those less concerned with spoilers than getting a good nights sleep – the local UK airing time is 2am – the episodes will be released on Sky Go as soon as they air to be streamed at your leisure.

Best for sports

The Sky Sports pack is a must-have for any serious sports-watching household. As well as showing the majority of televised Premier League matches, Sky Sports has 8 exclusive channels – in addition to the three included in the signature package – broadcasting matches from the NFL and NBA, Boxing, Cricket, Darts, Rugby League, Netball and more.

The essential Sky channel pack for any film lover, with 11 dedicated movie channels. Sky Cinema is home to a new premiere every day. March sees the small-screen debut of Elvis, Where The Crawdads Sing, The Black Phone and Minions: the Rise of Gru, among many others.
