Hyperoptic broadband celebrated its 11th birthday this month, and the FTTP internet provider has come a long way since its founding in 2011.
After expanding their in-building broadband networks for more than a decade, Hyperoptic plan to be available in one million homes before Christmas 2022. The network has grown to the point that services are available in more than 50 different UK cities. As well as expanding its network, the company is marking reaching the milestone of more than 2,000 employees.
They’re also celebrating reaching 250,000 active customers. This amazing milestone also shows there could be more than 700,000 people missing out on Hyperoptic’s fantastic service.
What’s different about Hyperoptic broadband?
Hyperoptic is an entirely FTTP (fibre to the premises) broadband provider. This means that their network uses 100% fibre cable, with no old-style copper cabling involved. That means that unlike the majority of UK fibre customers with a top speed of around 70 mbs, Hyperoptic customers can access internet speeds of up to 900 mbs.
Hyperoptic is not the only FFTP provider, but their choice to offer services in a small number of buildings and developments allows them to offer these top speeds at some of the lowest prices in the UK, all while offering exceptional customer service. In fact, Uswitch gave Hyperoptic 4.5/5 in their review, their major criticism being simply that not everyone had access to the network.
With Hyperoptic expanding its coverage every day, however, we’ll hopefully soon see more and more people take advantage of some of the UK’s best fibre broadband.
